Upon completion of this 1-day course, participants will have a thorough theoretical and practical understanding of:
- Cylinder and gas inherent safety risks
- Gas material safety data sheets
- Cylinder transport
- Cylinder storage
- Cylinder handling
- Connecting high pressure regulators and gas equipment correctly and safely
- Gas equipment best practice
Despite the dangers of high pressure gas cylinders, most laboratories that require specialised gases rely on staff and students who are not trained to use the equipment safely. Laboratory Gas Africa offers a 1-day practical training course to give users the skills to safely operate high pressure gas cylinders in a laboratory or industrial environment. During the first half of the 1-day course (4 hours), theoretical training is provided, followed by an assessment for which the minimum pass mark is 90%. In the second half of the day, participants are taken through a 2-3 hour practical session covering the handling and storage of cylinders, as well as different connections and settings. For more information and customised courses for your laboratory, please send an email to info@labgasafrica.co.za or call us to discuss your needs.
